Former The hallmark of true greatness is drawing a series of praise from the arch-rivals. The ways former Pakistan cricketers have been praising Virat Kohli and how he has transformed himself and the game makes him a legend of the game.

Former Pakistan captain and one of the most successful fast bowlers in the history of ODIs, Waqar Younis is all praise for the India and Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper. Younis while interacting with his fans on social media credited Virat Kohli for making fitness such an integral part of the sport.

“Virat Kohli has evolved the game and all the formats of the modern-day cricket including T20 Cricket, one day suits him a lot and he is brilliant at test matches. But the biggest difference he brought to cricket that is followed and watched worldwide is his fitness,” Younis said.

Younis agreed to what is now an accepted notion that Kohli has set the bar for fitness for cricketers across the world. The way Indian skipper fights till the end is what makes him favourite among the fans.

“He has set a bar of fitness worldwide, for players, I think it is hard to beat. I think for that reason also, you like everything about Virat Kohli. He is fit, he is always in your face, he wants to prove you that he is the best, he is a fighter, so that is why, we all like him,” the former paceman said.

Not just the former cricketers, even current generation of Pakistan cricketers acknowledge the greatness of Virat Kohli. After Virat Kohli had termed Mohammad Amir the toughest bowler he had faced in international cricket, the pacer returned the compliment.

"The world knows Kohli is the best. You have to give your best against him. If you give him a chance, he takes away the game, like he did in the Dhaka Asia Cup game. So, I have to focus and do my best to target him. He has the best strike rate and average while chasing so he is also the biggest challenge for bowlers around the world,” Amir had told Wisden India in 2017.
