In recent times, the sequential spurt in COVID-19 cases has rattled Karnataka. Several doctors and frontline staff are working diligently, from dusk to dawn, extending their assistance and protecting people during the tumultuous phase. Even words such as 'courageous' and 'commitment' pale in contrast with the efforts and contributions rendered by frontline workers.

The Chief Minister's office (CMO) announced that the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium and Bengaluru Palace will be transitioned into a COVID-19 care centre to govern the patients suffering from the deadly virus.

Located in the heart of the city, M.Chinnaswamy Stadium has been an omphalos for all avid cricket fans in Bengaluru. The stadium was named as a tribute to M.Chinnaswamy - a former BCCI president. In 1974, M.Chinnaswamy played hosts to its first-ever international game (Test) between India and West Indies.

Karnataka reported 2,313 cases on Friday, recording the biggest single-day spike. Bengaluru Urban region has been witnessing an enormous leap in COVID-19 cases since last week.
