Virat Kohli talks about his 3rd fifty of IPL 2023 and the catches he took during the match vs DC at the Chinnaswamy
The opening pair of Kohli and skipper Faf du Plessis for the RCB in IPL 2023 has been nothing short of wondrous as they have crossed the 40-run mark in all games and that too at a breezy strike rate. Although Faf departed early on Saturday evening, Kohli put on a show and was adjudged the Player of the Match for his 34-ball 50 and the three crucial catches he took that left Delhi reeling.
Talking at the post-match presentation about his first catch that went miles in the air, Virat said, “It was a bit of a tricky one when it went up in the air. I first of all made sure that no one was close to me so I had space to judge the ball. It was quite difficult but the other two were quite easy.”
He would then shift his focus to his batting display which was once again the talk of the town, helping RCB get off to a fiery start. He said, “I was quite disappointed that I got out to a full toss. I'd been playing really well and after I got to 50, I was targeting 30-35 runs in the next 10 balls. That's usually how I play and that would've helped us get past 200.”
He concluded by talking about the surface that is usually deemed as an extremely batting-friendly track in the antiquity of the Indian grounds and said, “I mentioned to the guys in the change room that it felt like 175 was enough on this pitch. It felt like it slowed down.”
