An IPL debut for any cricketer in India is always very special, particularly when they were initially picked as a net bowler for a team and the management believed in them to come good when thrown at the deep end.

More importantly, the occasion gets even grander when that player is filling in the boots of one of the biggest names who was firing on all cylinders in the domestic circuit and took IPL 2022 by storm. This story is about Bengaluru’s own star Vyshak Vijaykumar and his extremely proud parents, who were so happy to see their young kid come good in what will always remain as one of the proudest moments of their life.

Vyshak put up a swashbuckling display against the Delhi Capitals as he managed to storm through the formidable Delhi batting unit, claiming the all-important scalps of David Warner, Axar Patel and a dangerous Lalit Yadav. His parents featured in the latest episode of the 12th Man TV, talking at length about all the emotions that ran wild in them as the game kept on progressing.

Shedding light on the emotions that reigned supreme as Vyshak kept on knocking over the Delhi wickets, his father said, “I am feeling really great. I enjoyed the match as he bowled in good areas, and he also managed to bundle the variations in a perfect package of tribulation for the opposition. As a result, he got the wickets. I am extremely happy about his spell.”

Talking about Vyshak being drafted into the main squad, his father said, “We were surprised that he was called up and was used as a net bowler first. We wished him all the best and told him to try with all his might. A few days later, Vyshak revealed that he was called for a meeting hoping that he will be given a chance to play as a player in the team.”

He continued, “We were very surprised because he was a huge fan of RCB, he loved to be with RCB. So he got that opportunity after his due share of hard yards. Inducting him into the team was a great feeling for us.”

It was his mother who spoke next, adding on the exact feeling that she felt after her son was inducted into the playing XI, stating, “We have no words to speak now. He made my dream come true. I have seen 40000 people cheering loudly for Vyshak. I am telling you it’s definitely true for any cricketer.”
