Virat Kohli lights up Chinnaswamy with another phenomenal display against the Knight Riders
Despite RCB’s defeat against KKR at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Virat Kohli showed why he is one of the best in business once again with a knock of class, temperament and some superlative control. With wickets toppling continuously at the other end, Virat had a job to do and it wasn’t an easy one.
He had a fortunate start to the innings with an outside edge against Mitchell Starc and then waited a while before eventually bringing the cannons out. It was once again Mitchell Starc who was at the receiving end of Kohli’s salvo. In the third over of the innings, VK made excellent use of his crafty wrists to flick the Aussie ace over deep-midwicket into the stands.
Kohli once again had a bit of life going forth as the very next ball he played had a massive inside edge with the ball racing away to the fence. With Cameron Green taking over the reins, Kohli had to wait for a while before he could hit the accelerator once again.
This time it was Sunil Narine who had a pretty ordinary day in office with the ball in his hand. A flighted delivery outside the off-stump was launched over the deep mid-wicket. He brought up his half-century with a single against Varun Chakravarthy but preceded that with another maximum over the deep mid-wicket fence.
Even though his juggernaut came to a tad halt towards the latter half of the innings, yet that humongous six against Starc in the final over the cow corner was just another blazing ode to his iconic brilliance. He stayed unbeaten for a staggering 83 from just 59 balls, whacking four fours and four sixes in the process. At the end of the innings, it was Cameron Green who handed him over the Orange Cap as the King sits right at the top of the scoring charts with a tally of 181 runs.
