Virat Kohli is the X-factor – Sreesanth on India’s key strengths against South Africa
After a fabulous run in the recently concluded World Cup, Virat Kohli will once again be seen in action when India take on South Africa. However, the seasoned Indian campaigner will be taking the yard only in the whites, alongside another experienced man in Rohit Sharma.
When it comes to Test matches in South Africa, one notable character in the long-standing rivalry of the two cricketing powerhouses would always be Sreesanth. The way he celebrated after smashing Andre Nel at Johannesburg for a maximum in 2006 has been immortalized.
Ahead of India’s tour to South Africa, Sreesanth talked about the x-factor for the Indian cricket team in the longest format of the game. The former Indian quick highlighted that Virat Kohli’s name is one that creates all the difference between these two sides.
Talking to Firstpost, Sreesanth said, “Virat Kohli is the X-factor. Virat loves to keep proving, rather than to anybody but to himself. I think he’s that cricketer who actually plays with that pride and he takes that pride in a very good way, not in an egoistic way. So pride for me, and for Virat also I’m sure it’s like personal responsibility in delivering excellence. So, I will go with Virat and KL Rahul.”
India will be playing a three-match T20I and a three-match ODI series ahead of the two Tests which will see the two powerhouses colliding with each other in South Africa post 2022 for the first time
