Virat Kohli has never been to NCA in his entire career – Rohit Sharma praises Indian star’s fitness and passion

As India went down fighting in the first Test against England, a large void was felt in the Indian engine room as the batters succumbed to the mercurial Tom Hartley, who clinched a seven-fer in the second innings. Virat Kohli, who was rested for the first two Test matches due to personal reasons, was certainly a star batter who was dearly missed by Team India.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma reserved the highest praise for the run-machine in an interaction with Dinesh Karthik, on Jio Cinema. Pointing out Virat’s fitness and how he has prepared himself over the years, Rohit was unreserved in his plaudits for the RCB star.

Rohit said, “Virat Kohli has never been to NCA in his entire career. I would say that all the younger players should look up to the passion that he has. Leave alone how he plays the cover drive, flick, cut but first things first you have to understand what is the quality of the players that makes him where he is today.”

He further said, “I have watched Kohli enough. He can easily be satisfied with what he has achieved. He can say that I will take it easy in these 2-3 series, I will come later, but he is always there for the team. That mindset of being hungry and not complacent cannot be taught. You have to learn that from looking at the others. It has to come from within. I cannot teach you that.”

It is expected that Virat Kohli will be returning to the Indian fold for the third Test, which is slated to be played from the 15th of February in Rajkot.
