Video: Ravindra Jadeja brings out the sword celebration after another resilient half-century

It was a tough day for India initially as they lost three of their key top-order batters within just 34 runs with Hasan Mahmud roaring supreme. However, after an interval patch in place from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant, India rode high on the brilliance of Ravichandran Ashwin who registered his sixth Test century while Ravindra Jadeja hammered his 20th half-century in whites.

Ashwin was definitely the pick of the day for India with his mind-blowing knock but Jadeja wasn’t far behind as he fought tooth and nail alongside Ash. Once the initial jitters were shaken off, Jaddu got to his element, peppering the bowlers into every single nook and cranny of the park. Jaddu struck his first boundary against Mehidy Hasan Miraz as he came down the track and pumped one over mid-on.

Hasan Mahmud was the pick of the lot for Bangladesh was at the receiving end when he struck his first maximum which was also the first of the series. The southpaw rocked back and took a slower shorter delivery and churned it out over square leg for a six. Shakib al Hasan went for two back-to-back fours against Jaddu in the 55th over, the first one being a slog over mid-wicket while drilling the latter down the ground.

It was the 68th over of the innings that saw Ravindra Jadeja complete his half-century against Hasan Mahmud with a pull that resulted in a single. Consequently the sword celebration which is the signature of Jadeja also took centerstage. You can watch it here.
