Video: Akash Deep cooks some serious storm to shatter timber at will

India ended their innings at 379 after recovering from a modest 144/6 at one point in time. The Indian bowlers then came out roaring. RCB ace quick, Akash Deep’s double whammy left the visitors in an extremely tight spot with very minimal room to break free.

It was a mind-boggling second over from Akash Deep which was also the ninth for Bangladesh and the final one before lunch. Najmul Hossain Shanto was batting on 15 while he was partnered by Zakir Hasan batting on three at the other end.

It was the first ball of the ninth over and Akash Deep stormed in at his usual pace. Pitching one just outside the off-stump and getting the ball to angle back in, Akash barrelled through the gates of Hasan and chainsawed his middle stump into two.

Almost executing a highlight reel of the delivery, Akash Deep pitched it just outside the channel, getting the ball to nip back in and at a possibly faster speed. The next thing that the incoming Mominul Haque knew was that his off-pole was deracinated and he had to head back to the pavilion without opening his account.
