Top three performers: DC vs RCB

Glenn Maxwell started the onslaught and Dinesh Karthik finished it; they piled up a mountain in front of the Delhi Capitals to climb. They did manage to get off to a decent start for sure but as soon as Mohammed Siraj dealt that opening whammy, the Challengers clawed their way back in with some extremely disciplined bowling, spearheaded by Josh Hazlewood.

As RCB secured their fourth win of the season, it was all smiles in the camp. This was the first victory for Faf and his men, defending a total in IPL 2022. Here are our three best performers for the Challengers from a night of smiles and happiness.

1. Glenn Maxwell

It seems that the Australian all-rounder has started the season exactly where he left in 2021. He came out to the center when the situation commanded mastery of the nerves. Maxwell stayed in the middle and played out a handful of decent strikes before finally firing on all cylinders. He hammered the Delhi bowlers without any hesitation whatsoever, conjuring a firestorm that read 55 off 34 balls before Kuldeep Yadav got the better of the Great Showman.

2. Dinesh Karthik

No matter how many praises we heap on Dinesh Karthik it would fall short in front of the mesmerizing brilliance that he has stitched so far in the face of countless adversities. The way he placed his innings was a reverberating spectacle for the ages to come. He took the initial overs slow and then came out all guns blazing, hammering the Delhi bowlers to every single nook and cranny of the park. He stitched together another unbeaten knock that would read 66 off just 34 balls.

3. Josh Hazlewood

The Australian fast bowler struck the chord of perfection in IPL 2022 as he stitched together an emphatic display with the cherry in his hands that saw him bowling an acutely tight line, imparting very little room for the batters and scalping three crucial wickets to destabilize the chase. His scalps included the big names of Rovman Powell, Lalit Yadav, and Shardul Thakur, all three hard-hitters who could have changed the course of the game on the day.
