India posted a phenomenal display to clean sweep the three match T20I series, leaving Sri Lanka in a rut. The captain Suryakumar Yadav led from the very front as he was also the Player of the Series. This was India’s first series under the guidance of Gautam Gambhir as India coach and the emphatic triumph made everyone happy in the dugout.

The new Indian gaffer was delighted with how his wards delivered and in a post-match dressing room video shared by BCCI, Gauti heaped praises on his young guns, acknowledging their fabulous enterprises and their unyielding resolve on the pitch.

Gambhir said, “Guys congratulations on a great series win. I asked for something before the start of the game and you absolutely delivered it. This is what happens when you keep fighting. You don’t give up.”

Commending Suryakumar Yadav’s captaincy, Gauti said, “Congratulations to Surya as well, outstanding captaincy and more importantly with the bat as well.”

He highlighted the future course of action for the players with a pinch of caution for the upcoming Bangladesh series as well, stating, “We still need to get better on playing on wickets like these. Because we might end up getting these kinds of wickets. So we should first assess the situations and conditions quickly.”

He concluded by stating, “Make sure from the fitness point of view, the fitness levels are right up there. Okay, Congratulations once again.”
