Hardik Pandya delighted to see India making the most of situational awareness against Sri Lanka
Team India had quite a few decisions to make when they were up against Sri Lanka in the final T20I. A game that went down the wire from practically a point of no return, saw the visitors making good use of their match and situational awareness.
From Riyan Parag and Shubman Gill’s crucial partnership to significant changes amongst the bowlers, the Men in Blue pulled off an unthinkable victory. Talking in a video shared by BCCI, Hardik Pandya took over the mantle from Gautam Gambhir and concluded the dressing room discussion with plaudits for the crucial partnership between Riyan Parag and Shubman Gill.
Talking about the crucial partnership between Parag and Gill, Pandya said, “When you speak about situational awareness, at that point of time what both of you did was very, very important. That gives us a platform to at least reach a decent total (to which) our bowlers can make sure and bowl at the right areas.”
He drew the curtains by adding a word of praise for Ravi Bishnoi and Washington Sundar who were also incredible towards the end, adding, “I always emphasise on the fact that the lower order has to come and chip in, and Washy and those eight runs by Bishi (Ravi Bishnoi) was very important.”
