This is something new I achieved in my life – Shivam Dube on winning ‘Player of the Series’ award
The Indian cricket team put on a dominating show in the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan, sealing a series whitewash as well. Shivam Dube played an instrumental role for India, finishing off as the leading run-scorer for Team India with 124 runs at a strike rate of 158.97, apart from picking up a couple of wickets.
After clinching the Player of the Series award for his reckoning showdown, Dube expressed glee about the fruits of his labour and was also vocal about what the award meant to him.
Talking at the post-match presentation, Dube said, “As an all-rounder you always want to be the Player of the Series, and this is something new I achieved in my life and it feels really good.”
He further added, “We scored a lot of runs on this ground and we thought we would win before the super over, but such is cricket and well done to both teams. There are many things I want to improve, especially in my bowling and I'm trying to get better with each passing game.”
