After two away matches to start IPL 2025, RCB has finally arrived home where they will be playing the Gujarat Titans in their first home game. Following their clash against GT, they will head to Mumbai for their third away fixture.

With extensive travel already on the cards, former RCB superstar, AB de Villiers opened up on how the schedule of the tournament has been a tricky one for the Royal Challengers to brave. Talking on his podcast, he also highlighted that the opening chapter of the tournament was crucial for RCB and they have performed a fine job of getting off to the right start.

Talking about RCB’s schedule, ABD said, “The start of a campaign is never easy, but they did it absolutely spot on. Look at that ‘away, away, now they go home. Then they are away again, home, away, home, away, it’s crazy. I’ve never seen a situation like this, and it is challenging, but it can be one of your strengths.”

He concluded by talking about how these away fixtures can actually help the team to bond stronger, stating, “It can keep the squad together, especially when you find a bit of momentum to jump around like that… you often find yourself travelling together. If you have four home games in a row, you sort of lose the feel for the players….Guys do different things, they go to restaurants at night and you sort of lose that touch and the connection between the squad.”
