There is no weakness seen in his bowling: Ajit Agarkar on Mohammed Siraj
Before Kuldeep Yadav would come in with the tanks and missiles to derail Bangladesh in the latter stages of the first innings, it was a scintillating display from Mohammed Siraj to fire India to a blinder with the ball in his hands.
Siraj bagged the first three of the four scalps that Bangladesh lost, leaving the hosts wobbling at 4 for 56. He managed to produce that all ethereal swing in the air where the ball had a late wobble adorning it, that proved to be the undoing of the hosts early in the innings.
Former Indian fast bowler, Ajit Agarkar had massive praise reserved for the RCB ace quick after his sumptuous display against the Tigers, helping India set themselves up for a grandstand finish in the first innings.
Talking to Sony Sports, the former Indian cricketer said, “There is no weakness seen in his bowling. If you have to bowl fast through the air and pitch it up, he can do that. If you have to hit the length, he can do that. When the ball releases properly from his hand, there is outswing to the right-handers. So he has the ability and can do different styles of bowling. It has been a highlight of his career that whenever you see his bowling, he puts in his full effort in every over and every delivery. I am not saying that no one else does that but it has been a highlight.”
He further added, “The lines were extremely tight and because he has the speed, when there is uneven bounce, the batters don't get time to adjust. Litton Das was looking good and if you have to dismiss a good batter who has spent some time, you need to have the ability which he has.”
Siraj finished with figures of 3 for 20 from his spell of 13 overs while Kuldeep Yadav’s bedazzling fifer left Bangladesh skittled out for a modest 150, thereby allowing India to secure a momentous lead in the first innings.
