Virat has an incredible template: Rahul Dravid

In the absence of Rohit Sharma, India’s batting unit is spearheaded by Virat Kohli and despite a false start to the series, the kind of form Kohli is in at the moment, it is needless to say that as India ventures further along their journey towards the WTC final in the forthcoming year, the RCB opener will play a crucial role in shaping up India’s fortunes.

Kohli’s brilliance is recognized all across the globe and India’s gaffer is no stranger to the same. Taking a walk down the memory lane, Rahul Dravid talked at length about Virat Kohli’s heroics in Bangladesh and also issued a warning to India’s continental counterparts, stating that the former Indian captain is very well aware of his responsibilities and can flip the tide in India’s favour on any given day.

Talking on an interview on BCCI.tv, Rahul Dravid said, “He (Virat) knows when to be aggressive and when to control the game, it's incredible to watch and a good sign for us if he can build up. Virat has an incredible template in 50-over cricket. His record speaks for itself. It's phenomenal the number of games he's played.”

Adding further, Dravid stated, “He feels he's back and is training as hard as I have ever seen him. For me, that has been a stand out, watching him train this past year, that never changes irrespective of whether he is doing well or not and that is a great lesson for a lot of the young players in the group.”

Virat Kohli scored a quickfire 19 in the second innings as Cheteshwar Pujara reached his century. In his short stay at the crease, he emitted a glimpse of the brilliance that he has brought to the game, especially since his return from the one-month break that has transformed his game massively.
