The strategy during the break was Rajat should take the game on: Sanjay Bangar
In another bad day in the office for RCB, where they would slip up against the soaring Titans, it was a fine display from a handful of Challengers who would swing their way through an ocean of adversities and momentous challenges.
Virat Kohli finally found his stride with a half-century that would see him consistently battle with the searing heat and the brutal pace. Rajat Patidar would come forth with a slew of good-looking strokes that exuded brilliance and confidence.
Mahipal Lomror and Glenn Maxwell chipped in with a late blitzkrieg that would witness the Challengers posting a fighting total on the cards, thanks to some crazy striking and a flurry of the most ingenious cricketing shots that you would ever witness.
Sanjay Bangar heavily praised the RCB debutant, Mahipal Lomror, “He’s been working very hard. You can also see the effort that he has been putting in, striking the ball well, gave us those crucial runs towards the end, actually gave us the score which was pretty competitive.”
He would also talk about Rajat and Virat. “Apart from him the way Rajat played, Virat’s return to form, how we struck the ball early on in the innings, those were fabulous signs for us as a team,” he said.
Talking about the exact strategy regarding Patidar’s belligerence that would see RCB put their foot on the gas, Bangar would further highlight, “The strategy during the break was Rajat should take the game on. We wanted Virat to bat deeper in the innings. Get us a 70 plus score. So Rajat did that job beautifully. He is somebody who is new to IPL. He is only playing his second game of the season. The kind of shots that he played both against spin and pace were really impressive.”
Virat’s return to form can be a massive herald for RCB as they enter the final four rounds of madness, sealing the fate of the upcoming hustle called play-offs that would start with a glacial encounter against the Chennai Super Kings on Wednesday.
