The Indian bowling attack has been lethal - Adam Gilchrist
As India take the yard again on Sunday, this time for their final group stage fixture against Netherlands, they will be hoping to finish off the league stages on a high.
Former Australian cricketer dissected India's recent performances, also handing out a crucial suggestion to the other teams about how they can come good against the Indian unit.
Talking to Fox Cricket, Gilchrist pointed out, "I think firstly winning the toss and batting first, given how India have gone about their business. I don't suggest that they have a weakness in chasing. They have the greatest-ever run-chase co-ordinator in Virat Kohli."
He further added, "But the damage that the Indian bowling attack has been doing under lights, they have been lethal. Siraj, Shami, and Bumrah have been almost unplayable. It might be more conducive to bat against them in daylight. They have always had a powerful batting line-up. But it's the potency of the bowling that's making them such a threat at the moment."
Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shreyas Iyer and Shubman Gill have been in sensational form throughout the tournament, particularly with the former in almost unwavering shape. If India's batting unit has been the cream, their bowling unit spearheaded by the trio of Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah has been the cherry on the top.
As India gear up for their final group stage fixture against Netherlands, and then the semi-final, it is going to be fascinating to see how the team shapes up, particularly with the semi-final jinx doing vehement rounds for the last 12 years.
