The battles we've had with Ashwin and Jadeja have often dictated the outcome – Glenn Maxwell

As India gears up for a major challenge which will see them travel Down Under for a five-match Test series in the upcoming iteration of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, RCB all-rounder Glenn Maxwell picked two players who can be the gamechangers for the visitors.

Underscoring the brilliance of the Indian bowling unit, Maxi was quick to point out that if Australia can keep the all-rounder duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja at bay, they will have a much better chance of beating India.

Talking to Star Sports, Maxi underlined that India’s bowling can be a major concern for the hosts while pinpointing the duo of Jadeja and Ashwin specifically. He also had a special mention for Jasprit Bumrah and the kind of menace that he brings to the table.

Maxi said, “I think that over a long period of time, having played against guys like Ashwin and Jadeja, those two seem to have always been the ones we've faced consistently, and the battles we've had with them have often dictated the outcome of the game.”

He further added, “If we play well against those two (Ashwin, Jadeja), we'll generally find ourselves in a better position compared to when they've had a field day and run through us. Those two guys have been there for most of my career, being of a similar age.”

Maxi also heaped praises on Bumrah, stating, “And probably, more recently, Jasprit Bumrah. I was there in his first year of the IPL in 2013 at Mumbai and pretty much faced him every day in the nets. To see him evolve from a young, untapped talent to what he is now—the probably best bowler across all three formats—is a pretty amazing story.”
