That is why we talk about Virat Kohli so much – Ravichandran Ashwin on Indian star’s superlative fielding
Ever since Virat Kohli pulled off that crucial save in the 17th over of the final contest of the T20I series against Afghanistan that saw India defending five runs on that very ball itself, the world has spoken in unison about the greatness of King Kohli.
Despite departing for a golden duck in the final battle of the series, Virat ensured the fact that his contributions were coming in some way or the other. Firstly, he pulled off a crucial save in the 17th over where Karim Janat’s drilled hit was almost certain to cross the ropes while he also chimed in with a crucial run out in the Super Over that got rid of the dangerous Gulbadin Naib.
A save like that actually went on to impact the entire result of a contest, would certainly invoke reactions from all across the globe and this occasion was no different. The latest addition to this list was Ravichandran Ashwin, who took to his own Youtube channel to speak on Kohli.
Ashwin said, “He flew like Spiderman to save a six and that is the reason the match went into Super Over and eventually India won the match.”
He further added, “That is why we talk about Virat Kohli so much. He consistently scores at a good average and strike rate in a format that is so inconsistent.”
Both Ashwin and Virat will be a part of the Indian squad that will be take on England for a five-match Test series, which is set to commence on January 25th.
