Zaheer Khan picks the ideal pace attack India should opt for in the T20 World Cup 2024
With the final T20I against Afghanistan coming to a close, India’s preparatory chapter for the upcoming T20 World Cup later this year also came to a fruitful end, and at the end of it all, there were obviously a few questions asked and a few answered.
However, one particular story is the need for India’s pace unit, led by Jasprit Bumrah, to be on song before the Indian team departs for the World Cup.
India endured a bittersweet outing in South Africa where it was eventually their pacers who got the job done. Knowing the conditions of West Indies and USA, the pacers will play an instrumental role for any team as the surfaces will offer considerable movement.
Former Indian fast bowler, Zaheer Khan, emphasized the importance of India’s fast bowling troika to be at the peak of their bowling form, which can do an incredible lot for the Indian cricket team when they arrive for the global event.
Talking to Colors Cineplex, Zak said, “I feel you will see (Jasprit) Bumrah and (Mohammed) Siraj for sure. After that, Arshdeep (Singh), you will get a slight variation because he is a left-armer. He bowls good yorkers. So that is an added advantage.”
He concluded by saying, “Then I believe (Mohammed) Shami because if he is fit and available, he can be an X-factor option for you during the World Cup. So I will pick these four pacers because four pacers should go for sure.”
