RCB have been off to a disappointing start in the ongoing IPL 2024 as they have slumped down to three defeats from the four matches. Their latest defeat came against the Lucknow Super Giants where they fell short of the finish line by 28 runs while chasing 182.

Despite the darkness however, RCB’s solitary beacon of light in the ongoing season has been Virat Kohli, who currently holds the Orange Cap with a tally of 203 runs from the first four matches. He did get off to a fine start against LSG as well but couldn’t convert to something big.

RCB Hall of Famer, AB de Villiers had an important message both for Virat and the side after the bumpy start to the tournament. Talking on his Youtube channel, ABD highlighted the positives of the season while also pin-pointing what can be the potential way out of the treacherous cross-currents.

ABD said, “Hopefully, Virat keeps on going with his good start because RCB need that glue in the middle overs. We need him to get through the first six overs, that is ultimately I want him to play. Let Faf take more risk up front but Virat, I want you to be there from over 6-15. That is when RCB is going to fire on all cylinders. Watch out for that.”

He further added, “RCB…not a bad start but not great. It is in the middle and they need a couple of wins. They will be hitting the road and hopefully, they will find good fortune away from home before they come back to the Chinnaswamy.”
