Team India aim to finish the 2021 T20 World Cup campaign on a high
India's hope to reach the semi-finals of the ICC World T20 ended after New Zealand won a close, low-scoring encounter against Afghanistan. The redemption of India's all-around performance in their last two matches has not paved them enough to only settle at third position in Group 2.
On the last day of the group stage, Captain Kohli will lead his side for the last time in T20I matches. Thus, he would hope to conclude the T20 World Cup campaign on the winning side.
On the eve of the game, bowling coach Bharat Arun pointed out what exactly went wrong for India in the tournament.
"I'm not trying to give any excuses, but I think the toss plays a very vital role in a match like this, which I think shouldn't - the toss shouldn't be of any consequence. But here, the toss gives a very undue advantage. And that's the reason why - it's a huge change between batting in the first innings and batting in the second innings. That shouldn't be the case in a very short format like this", said the Indian bowling coach and former Indian Test Cricketer, Bharat Arun.
