He registered figures of 1/25 in the clash, bolstering the stranglehold as DC failed to wriggle free. Following the game, Suyash Sharma said, “I don’t think that this is my best yet. I believe that this performance can still be better. I am still looking for mistakes within myself. I was trying hard that I could win the game for my team because last time around, our batters did a phenomenal job. They made 221 (against CSK) but this time they wobbled a bit (against DC) but it was still okay.”

He further continued, “It was still okay. There was help from the wicket. I was trying that if I could deliver with intent, then maybe I could win the game for my team. There were crests and troughs but it could have been better.”

Suyash also revealed his bond with Malolan Rangarajan, RCB’s spin bowling coach, stating, “The bond with Malo sir, not just from now, but ever after the auction, I have started talking with him. I started going to Chennai, I also went to Dubai to practice with him and it helped me a lot. He told me what are the things that I can do right, pointing out my key strengths.”

He concluded by talking about the overall conditions of IPL this year, stating, “This year, we are getting a lot of help from the wickets. I am always thinking about my strengths. If I keep on thinking about the grounds, at the back of my mind, I will always think that I may turn expensive. That is why I think that I give my best, then let’s see if the batter can do well against me.”
