Suryakumar Yadav bags the pole position in the latest ICC T20I batter’s rankings
It was a good day for the Indian cricket fans as their team braved a scare against Bangladesh to clinch an important win while their in-form T20 batter at the moment, Suryakumar Yadav powered to the top of the T20I batting rankings after an imperious showing in the ongoing World Cup.
In the latest rankings released by ICC, Surya surged past Pakistan wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan to clinch the ace, riding high on knocks of 68 from 40 against South Africa and another impressive display against Netherlands to place India in the driver’s seat. Suryakumar Yadav is also the leading run-scorer in the ongoing calendar year in T20Is with 965 runs.
Apart from SKY, Rilee Rossouw and Glenn Phillips also gained a significant number of positions to break into the top ten. Rossouw hammered a fine century against Bangladesh to clinch a 17-spots jump to be stationed in the eighth position while Phillips hammered a century against Sri Lanka to move up by five spots to finish in the 7th position.
RCB leg-spinner, Wanindu Hasaranga cut short the gap with top-ranked Rashid Khan after being the leading wicket-taker of the ongoing edition of the T20 World Cup so far. He has so far bagged 13 scalps in the ongoing T20 World Cup.
