"Super excited" Virat Kohli expresses heartfelt gratitude on being retained by RCB ahead of IPL 2025 mega auction

Virat Kohli was retained by the Royal Challengers Bengaluru ahead of the 2025 IPL mega-auction for a price of INR 21 crore and post the announcement, the franchise shared a video where he shared a wholesome message for his fans and the franchise, expressing his gratitude and elations on continuing to be a part of RCB for the 17th year on the trot.

In the latest RCB Bold Diaries video, Virat said, “Hi guys, a big hello to everyone at RCB. The fans, the people involved behind the scenes, the management, everyone, I am sending out this message to inform everyone that I have been retained by RCB once again for the three-year cycle of the IPL beginning next year.”

He further added, “I am super excited as ever as everyone knows what RCB means to me. It’s been a very very special relationship over so many years which continues to grow stronger and what I have experienced playing for RCB is truly special. I hope that the fans and everyone who’s connected to the franchise feels the same way.”

He also said, “At the end of this cycle it is going to be 20 years that I am going to be playing for RCB and that in itself is a very very special feeling for me. I have never thought that I am going to play so many years for one team but the relationship has truly become special over so many years and as I have said before that I don’t see myself anywhere else.”
