India have an important contest coming up against South Africa tomorrow at the Perth. The winner of the clash could well be surging to the top of the points table with both teams placed very close to each other.

India’s batting department has so far been brilliant despite a couple of false starts while their bowling has exhibited similar decency, restricting Pakistan and Netherlands comfortably in the respective encounters.

Ahead of India’s clash with South Africa, former Indian opener, Sunil Gavaskar was all praise about Indian captain Rohit Sharma who got back to runs in their contest against Netherlands, scoring a crucial half-century to prepare the stage for a late SKY blitz.

Talking to India Today, Gavaskar said, “Let's talk about the way India are shaping up. It's so good to see Rohit Sharma get some runs the other day, it's so good to see Arshdeep bowling the way he did. Ashwin and Axar Patel got some wickets. So, everybody who didn't have a great match against Pakistan, have come back well.”

Despite failures in the first two games for KL Rahul, Gavaskar believes that he is a class act and it’s just a matter of one game before he turns the tide around. Talking about Rahul, the Indian legend said, “Now the only concern maybe would be around KL Rahul, who didn't score too many runs in both matches. But he is a class act.”

Both Rohit and Rahul would be important cogs in the Indian plans as they try and cement themselves at the top of Group 2 with the all-important encounter scheduled at Perth for tomorrow.
