GR Vishwanath, Roger Binny, Javagal Srinath, Rahul Dravid, and Anil Kumble - Karnataka, as some say 'the land of the world-beaters,' has always developed a myriad of fine talents over the years. In 2019, the Southern state unearthed another youngster who could potentially carry the baton and legacy forward. The architect of Karnataka's twin triumph in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali, Devdutt Padikkal has been a revelation for Karnataka in the domestic circuit. 

Trivia 

1838  - In what was his first full-fledged domestic season, Devdutt Padikkal was Karnataka's top run-getter (1838 runs) across all formats. The southpaw contributed 42.7% and 36.13% to Karnataka's total tally of runs in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy respectively.

2148 - Since August 2019, Devdutt has been in ominous form, racking 2148 runs from 41 matches. He also garnered 21 half-centuries and a solitary ton during this period. 

33 - Devdutt Padikkal scored the most number of sixes (33) in the 2019-20 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. 

121 runs vs UAE,

U-19 Asia Cup - 

Devdutt was part of India's U-19 team, which emerged victorious in the 2018 ACC U-19 Asia Cup. He recorded the highest individual score of the tournament, weaving a 115-ball 121 runs against UAE. 

With 829 runs -  Devdutt Padikkal was the fourth-highest run-getter in the U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy 2018-19.
