Starting from zero is what I always think when I come out to bat: Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakumar Yadav’s blazing run continued in the Indian colours as he blasted a 25-ball-61 to help the Men in Blue to a staggering total in their final group stage fixture against Zimbabwe at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
He played some neat strokes, upping his tempo after a slow start that set the perfect platform for a grandstand finish and stayed unbeaten till the end to see off the chaos that he started a few overs back.
Speaking after the game, Suryakumar Yadav said, “I think the plan was very clear when me and Hardik were batting. He said let's take the positive route and see where we end up. We started hitting the ball well and never stopped till the 20th over.”
The Indian dressing room is in a breezy state of mind as the campaign has so far been great. Winning 4 out of the 5 group stage fixtures, India will be eyeing to bring the same passion when they take on the mighty English at Adelaide Oval on Thursday. Talking about the dressing room environment, SKY said, “The atmosphere in the team is very nice, and the build-up to the knockouts has been very nice.”
He also talked about his own strategy, adding, “My plan is always clear. I'm not trying anything different. I bat the same way in the nets as well. Feels really good, but coming out and starting from zero is what I always think when I come out to bat, and I'll keep doing that.”
SKY concluded by saying, “It's good to see people come out and support us like this even after we've qualified." The fans have backed the Indian audience strongly as they continue to battle on the distant shores of Australia with the hope of snuffing out a 15-year-long drought and SKY’s numbers would be a significant part of this journey.
