Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur make ripples in latest ICC ODI Women’s batting rankings
In the latest edition of the women's ICC rankings, Harmanpreet Kaur climbed up to the 9th place in the ODI batters list, while RCB skipper, Smriti Mandhana, remained at 4th for her valiant century in the final match of the bilateral, which India won to register a 2-1 series win over against New Zealand.
Kaur had a bit of a slump after the first two games but was quick to get back in the top 10 with an unbeaten 59 in the series decider. Mandhana’s century helped her to amass 728 points but she remained behind Chamari Athapaththu, Laura Wolvaardt and Nat-Sciver Brunt in the batting echelons.
It wasn’t just the Indian batters who found their way to the top but Deepti Sharma, who won the Player of the Series, in the bilateral affair between India and New Zealand, attained her career-best rating of 703 points and retained her second position in the bowlers’ rankings.
