In what was another prolific display from Shreyanka Patil in the ongoing edition of the Women’s Caribbean Premier League, the off-spinner claimed a brace to continue her dream run in the tournament for the Guyana Amazon Warriors. Patil, who had six wickets from the first three matches added two more scalps to her tally, finishing with figures of 2/10 from her four overs against the Trinbago Knight Riders.

Her first wicket of the day was of Zaida James, who was caught plumb in front as the ball skidded on after pitching. Pitched slightly shorter, the ball headed straight towards the pads and Zaida had her feet rooted to the crease, giving away her wicket.

Patil picked her second wicket with another peach as she found a way through a big gap between bat and pad of Samara Ramnath, knocking her timber back to end the Knight Riders’ misery with the bat as they were bowled out for just 72.

Patil’s RCB-W teammate Sophie Devine smashed a 19-ball 38* as the Warriors chased down the target in just 7.3 overs, storming into the summit clash.

The Warriors will take on the Barbados Royals in the final, and Patil stands at the cusp of becoming the first Indian to finish with most scalps in the WCPL.
