The inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League(WPL) is all set to kick off on the 4th of March 2023. Royal Challengers Bangalore will be beginning their campaign on the 5th of March against the Delhi Capitals at the Brabourne stadium in an afternoon game.

The inaugural edition is set to have a total of 22 fixtures including the Eliminator and the Final. The entire tournament is scheduled to be held across two venues in Mumbai with the fixtures split equally between the DY Patil Stadium and the Brabourne stadium equally at 11 each.

The league will kick off with a fixture between Gujarat Giants and the Mumbai Indians at the DY Patil stadium, while the final will be held at the Brabourne stadium on the 26th of March. The league phase consists of 4 double headers with the afternoon games beginning at 3:30 P.M. IST and the evening games set to commence at 7:30 P.M. IST. The top-placed team at the end of the league phase will book a direct spot in the final, while the second and third placed teams will fight it out in the Eliminator to decide the second finalist.

RCB are scheduled to play two afternoon games and 6 evening games. The women in Red and Gold will be playing 5 of their fixtures in the league phase at the Brabourne Stadium and 3 at the DY Patil stadium. The first four fixtures of the campaign for RCB will all be played at the Brabourne stadium. While the first league fixture will be against the Capitals, the Royal Challengers will finish their league campaign on the 21st of March against the Mumbai Indians in an afternoon game.

With a team full of superstars that features the historic first and the most expensive buy at the inaugural WPL Auction, Smriti Mandhana, RCB will be hoping for a strong showing in the inaugural edition of the WPL.
