Riding high on some imperious form against Sri Lanka in the recently concluded ODI series that didn’t end well for Team India, Rohit Sharma moved to the second spot in the ICC ODI rankings. With Babar Azam still at the top, Rohit’s recent show in Sri Lanka set the tone for his jump in the rankings.

Apart from Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill are the other Indians who occupy the top ten of ICC ODI rankings. Gill dropped to the third position while Virat Kohli remained rooted at fourth.

Despite India’s defeat against Sri Lanka in the series by 2-0, Rohit’s scores of 58, 64 and 35 allowed him to garner 157 runs at an average of 52.33 which came to his aid in leapfrogging Gill.

Shubman Gill dropped to the third with a tally of 763 points while VK’s repertoire of 746 points saw him maintaining the fourth spot just ahead of Irish batter, Harry Tector.

In bowling, there weren’t any significant movements for India as Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah remained in the top 10 with the former being at fourth while the latter stayed rooted in the eighth position with a tally of 645 points.
