Shikhar Dhawan has been a towering force in the Indian cricketing echelons in all three formats of the game. From dictating against the new ball to leading a band of youngsters to glory, Dhawan, fondly referred to as ‘Gabbar’, has done it all. Even though he hasn’t featured in the Indian threads for a while, his enduring credentials still linger on.

Playing an instrumental role in forming a strong partnership with Rohit Sharma at the the top of the order, Shikhar Dhawan has taken down many bowling units. Talking to the Times of India, the southpaw attributed massive credit to Rohit for helping him to forge such incredulous displays with the bat.

Dhawan said, “My collaboration with Rohit and his support at the other end at the top of the order has been instrumental in providing strong starts to the team, setting the foundation for successful chases and big totals. I seriously give credit for a lot of my best performances to Rohit's support.”

Taking a stroll down the memory lane, Dhawan added, “Rohit on the other end gives that sense of comfort and assurance. I think our best innings was a 193-run opening stand against Australia in the fourth ODI at Mohali in 2019 & the second best will be against Pakistan in the 2018 Asia Cup in Dubai where we put together a 210-run stand for the first wicket.”

Though Dhawan’s return to the Indian setup is unknown, yet,  his contribution to Indian cricket is nothing short of momentous. A part of the title-winning Indian team as part of the 2013 ICC Championship Trophy, Dhawan continues to play a big role at the top with his belief and confidence.
