Kohli leads from the front with his performances – Shikhar Dhawan

Virat Kohli is considered to be one of the greatest cricketers of all time, going by not just his performances with the bat but also his persona on and off the field. His reign as Indian skipper  also had countless reckoning moments that have been etched in the country’s proud cricketing history. 

Being a captain of the side doesn’t only come with the responsibility of steering the team to victories but also personally coming out to the aid of his players, being by their side in the toughest of times and also gliding alongside in joys and sorrows alike. Shikhar Dhawan, who has played alongside Kohli for many years, expressed his admiration for Virat the captain. 

Talking to the Times of India, Dhawan said, “Virat encourages young talents and is willing to back them, providing opportunities for them to flourish. Kohli places a strong emphasis on fitness and conditioning. This focus on physical fitness has become a key aspect of the team culture under his captaincy.”

He further added, “Kohli leads from the front with his performances. His aggressive style of batting often sets the tone for the team, and he expects a similar level of intensity from his players.”

Dhawan’s comments were seen in Virat’s comeback T20I against Afghanistan, as he belted 29 from just 16 balls in India’s 173-run chase, setting the tone for a grandstand finish that was taken care of by Shivam Dube and Yashasvi Jaiswal.
