Thanks to another blockbuster century on his Test return, hard-hitting Indian wicket-keeper, Rishabh Pant, has re-entered the ICC Test rankings. Moreover, he clinched the No.6 spot on the ladder after smashing 109 in the second innings of the game.

Pant did get off to a fine start in the first innings as well, scoring a breezy 39 off just 52 balls, a knock that steadied the Indian innings after losing their top three in very quick succession. Alongside Rishabh Pant, another India who gained a spot was Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Courtesy of a fine half-century in the first innings where the other Indian batters struggled to find their foothold, Jaiswal led the charge with an exquisite 56. With a tally of 751 points, Jaiswal clinched the fifth spot while Pant had amassed 731.

Shubman Gill also gained significant paces in the long race after his unbeaten century in the second innings. He moved up by five places to occupy the 14th spot while other big names in the list featuring the likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli slid down after ordinary shows in the opening Test of the series.

In terms of India’s bowling unit, Ravichandran Ashwin already had the top spot for himself while India’s pace maestro, Jasprit Bumrah clinched the second. Apart from the two, Ravindra Jadeja also found himself in the top ten as he was slotted at number six. You can see all the rankings listed here.
