Dashing young wicket-keeper batter Richa Ghosh is all set to feature in her second overseas league, with the London Spirit having signed the Indian star as a replacement for Georgia Redmayne ahead of The Hundred 2023.

Ghosh, 19, has made a name for herself with an aggressive approach to her batting and she will play under Heather Knight - her teammate at RCB in the Women’s Premier League - for the Spirit.

The right-handed Ghosh, who has turned out for the Hobart Hurricanes in the WBBL, will join Smriti Mandhana (Southern Brave) and Harmanpreet Kaur (Trent Rockets) as the Indian players who will take part in the competition, with the latter two retained by their respective franchises.

Playing in The Hundred, a unique 100-ball tournament launched by the England Cricket Board (ECB) in 2021 could provide Ghosh with vital game time and some fresh experience, having been overlooked by the selectors for the recent 3-match T20I series against Bangladesh.

Ghosh was last in action during the WPL when she turned out for RCB versus the Mumbai Indians, a match in which she blazed her way to a 13-ball 29, a knock laced with three fours and two sixes at a jaw-dropping strike rate of 223.07.
