RCB rope in Shraddha Pokharkar in place of injured Kanika Ahuja for WPL 2024
In an unfortunate development for the RCB-W only a few days away from the start of WPL 2024, Indian all-rounder Kanika Ahuja has been ruled out of the season owing to an injury. RCB have named left-arm seamer Shraddha Pokharkar, who represents Maharashtra in the domestic circuit, as Kanika’s replacement.
Shraddha’s recent exploits in the women’s cricketing arcade are downright promising as she registered figures of 2/8, 1/18, 1/19, 2/21 in the Maharashtra threads, while upping the ante for India D. The pacer has been roped in for her base price of INR 10 lakhs.
Kanika Ahuja’s crucial contributions in RCB-W’s maiden win in the preceding edition of the tournament, a 30-ball 46 that propelled the Women in Red and Gold across the finish line will always be etched in the history books.
We at RCB wish you a very speedy recovery, Kanika.
