Ahead of India’s fourth Test against England, a few crucial changes were made to the squad, owing to injuries and the rationale of balancing workloads for the cricketers. Jasprit Bumrah was released from the squad to manage his workload, while KL Rahul was ruled out of the 4th Test due to injury.

In the latest BCCI press release it stated, “Jasprit Bumrah has been released from the squad for the 4th IDFC First Bank Test against England in Ranchi. The decision was taken keeping in mind the duration of the series and amount of cricket he has played in recent times.”

It further said, “Meanwhile, KL Rahul is ruled out of the 4th Test. His participation in the final Test match in Dharamsala is subject to fitness. Mukesh Kumar, who was released from the squad for the third Test in Rajkot, has joined the squad in Ranchi.”

The fourth Test will be held from 23rd to 27th February at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Jharkhand. In the ongoing 5-match Test series, India now hold a 2-1 lead after pocketing a record 434-run win from the third Test in Rajkot.

India’s updated squad for the 4th Test: Rohit Sharma (C), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel (WK), KS Bharat (WK), Devdutt Padikkal, R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohd. Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, Akash Deep.
