Talk about longevity and Virat Kohli has lived that life for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The captain of RCB for almost a decade, Kohli not just set a path to stardom at the franchise but also transformed batting and fielding by setting a real-life example. Apart from his skills on the field that have attracted countless fans, Kohli’s non-cricketing side has comprised of his fantastic taste in music and his on-point humour that has quite often stolen the limelight.

Showcasing his fun-loving persona in one of the episodes of the RCB Bold Diaries, Virat Kohli opened up on a few things that would intrigue fans where he also shed some light on how Bengaluru has been an instrumental part of his life.

Quizzed on the type of music that he’s listening to currently, Kohli talked about his playlist saying, “I have actually gone back in time for now. I have recently downloaded Arijit Singh’s MTV Unplugged Playlist. He did an MTV Unplugged segment with some of his best songs and that was like a very soft rock, relaxed and a chill kind of version with beats too. I love those versions.”

Virat also shared two names among those he considers as the G.O.A.Ts of cricket, stating, “I have always taken two names who have revolutionized batting in their generations. One is Sir Viv Richards and the other one is Sachin Tendulkar who’s my hero. So yeah, these two people have completely changed the dynamic of cricket in their eras and that’s why I feel that they are the two greats.”

In an interesting question where he was asked what he would talk if he shared the table with Roger Federer and Cristiano Ronaldo, Virat said, “I would just keep shut and listen to their conversations. To be very honest, I don’t have much to add to that conversation. It’s all to soak in and listen to a couple of the greatest athletes in the history of sports.”

Highlighting a few of his childhood favourites, Virat said, “Trump cards were my favourite things to engage in with my friends. We used to hunt for those cards. I think that Lex Luger used to be ranked 1. Then there was Giant Gonzalez. You kept that card. You would surely win on heights. It was a lot of fun competing with those cards. For me, posters are not so much with singers, actors and celebrities as such but Sportstar Magazine used to be big back in the day. I used to look for the cricketers’ posters who will be there on the centrefold or a sports person as well. Like I remember, Leander Paes was on it quite often. I had all those posters on my cupboard.”
