With the WPL a little over one week away, the RCB women’s team have hit the ground running, and they were joined by skipper Smriti Mandhana.

In the latest episode of RCB Bold Diaries, Smriti talked about how it feels to be back home and the mood in the camp. Smriti said, “It feels good. I think that Bengaluru has always been close to me. I have always enjoyed being in Bengaluru. All the NCA camps that we have had here, but this year is special. We are playing in front of the home crowd.”

Smriti was part of the match simulation and played a handful of gorgeous-looking strokes, which she also reflected on by saying, “It feels good. Last year was very cramped up. It feels good. Batting is in a good place. It feels good to be with the girls.”

Talking about her learning as a captain from last year’s WPL, Smriti said, “The biggest learning was that the last one year we’ve been in and out, we have had a lot of camps. I have interacted a lot with the girls now a lot more than the last year, so that was the biggest learning.”

Shedding some light about the squad, she said, “I think we had chalked down some names and we got pretty much all. We lacked a little bit of experience in our bowling. I think we have covered that extremely well.”

The WPL 2024 season commences on February 23rd in Bengaluru, with RCB playing their first game on 24th at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
