RCB Bold Diaries: Youngsters will give their lives for you – Smriti Mandhana on her approach to captaincy

Smriti Mandhana has always been a reckoning force with the bat in her hand and will be hopeful of turning the tide around in this year’s WPL after a slightly shaky outing in the maiden edition of the tournament. The stylish opener will be leading the Royal Challengers Bangalore in WPL 2024 and was all praise for the youngsters of the team in the latest video of the RCB Bold Diaries.

Talking on the topic, Smriti said, “I really love spending time with youngsters. They get a really different energy for us, who keep on playing cricket all over. Sometimes you kind of go away from the enjoyment part.”

She further added, “The one thing I really look forward to is spending time with youngsters, trying to know what they are thinking. The young ones coming in, they need a lot of cushion around them. They need a lot of confidence in terms of telling them that you are the best.”

Smriti continued, “I think once you tell them that you are the best, just go out and play, I think they will just give life for you.” 

She concluded by talking about the fans, adding, “I hope the fans are coming to Chinnaswamy to support us. It will be really cool to hear all you guys chant!”
