Playing for RCB with Virat Kohli will be the happiest thing: Mohammed Azaharudeen
With less than two days to go for the 2021 IPL Auction, the excitement and curiosity are just getting increased. The think tanks of all eight franchises will work on certain equations that could work significantly for them in the summer of '21.
The recently concluded Indian domestic T20 tournament, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy would surely have brought some spotlight to players who might be likely to attract bids on the 18th of February. One such name that has been on the lips of many is Kerala wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammed Azharuddeen. The 26-year-old mesmerized everyone with swashbuckling batting ability against Mumbai, where he scored an unbeaten 137-run off just 62 balls that included 10 boundaries and 3 maximums.
Speaking to Crictracker, the Kasargod-born cricketer expressed his dream of playing alongside India captain Virat Kohli for the Royal Challengers Bangalore and also talked about his love for RCB as a fan.
“I started following RCB because of Virat bhai. Playing for RCB will be the happiest thing in my life. Batting alongside Virat Bhai will be so special,” he stated.
A major fanboy moment
“I met Virat bhai in the NCA, when I was training with the under-23 side with Kiran More sir. We clicked pictures with the rest of the players, but couldn’t get a picture with Virat bhai. His body language and the way he walks is so assertive, I couldn’t gather the courage to go to him and ask for a picture,” Azharuddeen said.
After his scintillating knock at the SMAT-20 tournament, a picture of his bucket list, which included a series of tasks that he wanted to accomplish over the next few years, went viral on social media. Just like any other middle-class boy with a clear modesty, Azharuddeen has revealed what he wants to do if everything goes well at the auction.
“To be frank, I just kept that bucket list beside that bed. I have no clue how it went viral. I have always wanted to have my own house. If everything goes well in the auctions, the first thing I will be looking for is definitely a house. I honestly am not aware of the developments. If it is true, that will be very nice. In any case, I have waited 4 years to be a part of IPL. I can easily wait 3 more days to find out.” the wicketkeeper-batsman said.
