No praise is enough for him: Dinesh Karthik heaps massive praise on Shubman Gill
Shubman Gill has been a decent act in all the opportunities that have been awarded to him in recent times. He has shown some clinical accuracy in executing his strokes and the kind of control that he has exhibited on foreign pitches have earned him some massive praise.
The Indian opener was all set to make his debut in the shortest format of the game in the first T20I but rain played spoilsport and the contest was washed away without a single ball being bowled. Team India chose to opt with other openers in the second T20I and he will still have to wait for his maiden T20I cap.
Dinesh Karthik has been extremely impressed with the way he has batted in recent times. The RCB wicket-keeper believes that Gill is just getting started and there is a bright future ahead of his former teammate at the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Talking to Cricbuzz, Karthik said, “You just get the feeling that it was inevitable after a player of his class and ability didn’t play T20 cricket for India. There were two things, one that competition is immense in India and the fact that you are needed to do more than expected and he’s come good in the last few months.”
He further added, “No praise is enough for him for the fact that we always highlight and speak about. It shows that we expect something big out of him. He is a big bucks player for the Gujarat Titans and he showed his mettle.”
Gill bagged his maiden international century earlier in the year against Zimbabwe in the final ODI of the series while coming exceptionally close against West Indies where his innings had to be stopped at 98 after rain played spoilsport.
