India to host Australian Women for a five-match T20I series in December
India will be hosting the Australian women for a 5-match T20I series starting December 9th for a tour spanning 11 days. All the games will be played in Mumbai with DY Patil playing host to the first two contests while the final 3 games are scheduled to be played at the Brabourne.
This will be an additional chapter in India’s preparation to the upcoming Women's T20 World Cup that will be convened in South Africa in February. India will also be a part of a tri-series involving the hosts South Africa and West Indies just ahead of the showpiece event.
For the first time, Australia will be playing a series away from home without their skipper, Meg Lanning, who chose to take an indefinite break owing to mental health following the finale of the Commonwealth Games where they got the better of the Women in Blue.
The Australian players will be coming into this series from what is going to be a freshly concluded WBBL, while Team India will be returning to the international fold after a successful Asia Cup campaign where the Women in Blue got the better of Sri Lanka in convincing fashion.
