Mayank Dagar joins RCB in a trade deal ahead of IPL 2024 Auction

All-rounder Mayank Dagar has been traded to the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) ahead of the IPL 2024 auction, in a deal that involves Shahbaz Ahamad moving to the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Dagar, a left-arm spin-bowling all-rounder from Delhi, was signed by SRH for INR 1.8 Crore at last year’s auction, and he has 55 T20 wickets at an average of 23.03 at an economy rate of just 6.57.

Shahbaz moves out of RCB after having represented the franchise across 39 matches, with 14 wickets to his name that came at an economy rate of 9.15 RPO.

Although he played only three matches in IPL 2023, Dagar comes into RCB with credentials beyond just his left-arm spin as he is a handy lower order batter and a gun fielder, having proved his worth for Himachal in the domestic circuit.
