Matches will not be one-sided: Jofra Archer on England vs India Test series
Jofra Archer loves Tweeting and predicting, some times he does both at the same time. Or it’s made to look like that by cricket-loving Twitterati, who have developed a habit of digging out his old Tweets and relating them to current events.
But this time Archer has made a serious prediction and it’s something that most people agree to.
England pacer thinks that the upcoming Test series between India and England are not going to be one-sided affairs.
"I’ve played lots of Indian Premier League here but nothing in terms of first-class cricket, so the challenges of bowling with a red ball will become clearer,” he wrote in Daily Mail.
"In the IPL the batters have to come at you, whereas in Test cricket they can sit on you for a full session if they want and if the pitch is dead there is nothing you can do about it.
"So let’s hope we get some good wickets with a little bit of pace for the bowlers.”
Archer, who is known for his easy-going effective action, thinks that England are prepared well to tackle the challenges of spin and if there are surfaces that suit the slower bowlers, the hosts will be in the game in equal measure.
Or even some turn, because if they spin, the matches will not be one-sided. We have good spinners in our squad and India won’t out-spin us," he added.
Archer was rested for the series against Sri Lanka and his return is expected to embolden England when they kick off their campaign on February 5th.
