Four days from now, Team India will be taking the yard against Australia in Adelaide for the all-important Pink-Ball Test. Following up on a staggering win in Perth, the visitors will be hopeful of bolstering their grip on the series while Australia will be eyeing a strong retaliation. In order to prepare for the Adelaide pink-ball Test, India played a two-day day-night contest against the Prime Minister XI at Manuka Oval.

Not only did India register a staggering win in the rain-curtailed 46-over-a-side match but they had a handful of performers leading the charge for them. Here’s a glance at the players who headlined India’s charge in Canberra -

Harshit Rana – 4/44

Rana, who was instrumental in the first innings at Perth, leaving Australia in a knot, was also the lead act of the Indian bowling unit in Canberra. He was slightly on the expensive side, conceding 44 runs from six overs but was also the pick of the bowlers as he registered four crucial scalps of Jack Clayton, Oliver Davies, Jack Edwards and Sam Harper.

Shubman Gill – 50*

India relied more on collective performances and a half-century from Shubman Gill was an indicator that he is a lot better and might just be a great option for India to slot into their XI as part of the Adelaide Test. An effusive half-century from Gill saw him smacking seven fours.

Yashasvi Jaiswal – 45

Jaiswal continued with his dream run in the practice match as well as he blasted an excellent 45 from just 59 balls. He clobbered nine fours in the process while providing the all-important start to the Indians in Canberra. He looked solid for the opening partnership with KL Rahul, asserting the fact that there will be no dearth of excitement when he takes the centerstage.

Nitish Kumar Reddy – 42

Reddy looked solid for his 42 as well and might have gone on to score a half-century as well if not for his dismissal. His job was to provide quick runs and he did that without a second thought as he just took 32 balls to rack up the storm. He smashed five fours and a six en route to his blaze of glory.

Washington Sundar – 42*

Sundar returned to runs in Australia as he stayed unbeaten for 42, completing India’s clinical win against the Prime Minister XI. He took just 36 balls and hammered five fours in the process, while India sailed hammer and tongs across the finish line, securing some crucial momentum ahead of the Adelaide Test.
