Kris Srikkanth highlights that Virat Kohli will eye Australia to be his hunting ground

Virat Kohli has hit a shaky patch in the last couple of Test series entailing Bangladesh and New Zealand. Despite that brilliant knock in Kanpur and a warring 70 against the Kiwis in the first Test of the series, there have been questions about Kohli’s consistency.

Fans and experts have opined that Virat has undoubtedly been a vital cog in the plans of India all along but his form is in the wane. However, former Indian cricketer and selector, Kris Srikkanth has voiced his opinion against a drastic thought of such nature.

Srikkanth has pointed out that his numbers are absolutely crazy in Australia, especially in Test cricket and being Down Under can very well prove to be the hunting ground for the King. Kohli has played 13 matches in Australia while batting in 25 innings. His overall tally reads a staggering 1352 runs at an average of 54.08 while blasting six centuries and four half-centuries.

Talking on his YouTube channel, Srikkanth said, “In my opinion, Virat Kohli will start doing in Australia (comeback). His area is Australia. I think that’s his strength. I think it’s too early to talk like this about Virat Kohli (moving on from him). I won’t accept it. Virat Kohli has got a lot of time. One or two bad years of Test cricket won’t change anything.”

India will be playing a five-match Test series against Australia and the battle is all slated to begin from November 22nd in Perth. The defeats against New Zealand has jeopardized their chances of qualifying for the third consecutive WTC final but it isn’t completely snubbed off yet.
