Know you challengers: RCB’s probable top-order for WPL 2023

Now that we are done with the WPL auction, the speculations for various positions of the team would be discussed vehemently and when the time comes knocking, the teams will resort to the best possible decisions to make the entire side an almost inexorable unit.

However, till then before the speculations start, here is a detailed insight about the possible players who will be filling in various ranks of the side, and what do the selected players bring to the hallowed likes of RCB. In this story, we will take a look at the batters who could constitute the top-order for RCB in the first-ever edition of the WPL.

1.    Smriti Mandhana

Needless to say, the Indian opener was the most expensive buy of the WPL auction 2023. She brings an amazing slew of skillset to the table and the kind of rampage that she is capable of unleashing upon the bowlers early in the game that may culminate into a full-blown nightmare makes her a perfect pick for the opening slot. With 2651 runs under her belt from 112 T20Is at a staggering strike rate of 123.13, Smriti is going to be the harbinger of rampage in the RCB echelons.

2.    Sophie Devine

One of the most experienced campaigners and Kiwi skipper, Sophie Devine adds some crucial strength to that opening position, considering her glistening numbers that read 2966 T20I runs from 117 fixtures while also registering 110 wickets at a magical economy rate of 6.34. Not only is she a phenom with the bat in terms of runs scored but once again her batting strike rate of 121.30 heralds the onset of a storm in the Powerplay for the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

3.    Disha Kasat

In contrast to the two aforementioned names who are juggernauts of the cricketing world, Disha Kasat is more of a consistent batter who can get the scoreboard ticking early and has a distended arsenal where she can fire home with consummate ease. She has previously been a valued part of the domestic circuit and will play a fine addition to the top-order of RCB alongside Smriti and Sophie. In the last 10 games played by her, she has smashed a century and two half-centuries.
